The COM port of the Vault is a redirection of the display output (VGA or HDMI). This allows the Vault to be controlled by a PC COM program such as PuTTY on Windows. It eliminates the need for a separate monitor to get to BIOS or install an operating system (OS) if supported by the OS. The COM port cable has an RJ-45 connector on one end and a DB-9 connector on the other. The RJ-45 connector connects to the COM port on the Vault and the DB-9 connector connects to the COM port of a PC.
